Sadly, this is our last week together. I have had a wonderful experience with your children and I will really miss them all. I have learned a great deal these past few months and I feel they have helped me to grow as an educator. I wish them all the best.
Mrs. Daly will be in on Monday afternoon to meet the children and to get to know them.
Character Counts!! We will be celebrating our pillar of the month on Fridays! This month we are celebrating “Caring”, so be sure your second grader wears red on Fridays!
Reading Logs
Please continue to read for 20 minutes each night during the holiday break. Please be you child returns the reading log on Monday, January 7, 2008!
Math: We will be finishing chapter 5 this week. We will review on Wednesday and Thursday. The test will either be on Thursday or Friday. Please be sure your child practices his/her math facts. We take our “mad minute” every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Spelling: Our spelling list this week will be holiday words. There will be no Blue Sheet this week.
Reading/Language Arts: During reading/language this week, the children will be visiting Sweden, Italy, China, Mexico, Pakistan and the United States to celebrate different holidays around the world. All the second grade students will take part in Holidays Around the World.
Science: Our chapter 1 Living Things Grow and Change test has been moved to Wednesday. Please look for a study guide and vocabulary words.
