Week of June 1-June 5

Writing: We will be busy putting together a second grade memory book. We will also be working on something special for “You are Wonderful” Day. We will be writing using adjectives and, of course, complete sentences!

MATH: We will finish our math book with multiplication. The children have worked very hard this year. I encourage your children to practice math facts, telling time, measuring (centimeters, inches, etc.), adding and subtracting three digit numbers, fractions and multiplication facts.

HANDWRITING: We will finish our capital letters and write using cursive handwriting as much as possible. Keep practicing over the summer. Remember to sit properly and to work carefully. Don’t forget to dot your “i’s” and cross your “t’s”.

Summer Practice
I am sending home a packet with your child. The activities reinforce math, reading, language arts and science. I hope that your child will be able to take a few minutes a day to work out of this packet. This will better prepare your soon-to-be-third grader for the transition next year. Have fun and keep reading and writing!!
