Math:
This week we continued working on Chapter 11. We reviewed fact families and opposite facts. We will continue to work with addition and subtraction. We will be working through this chapter at a slower pace in order to better prepare the children for the next chapter which explores two digit addition. Please continue to reinforce the different strategies we learned at school (counting on, using 10 and doubles). All these strategies will help your first grader add quickly and accurately. Please practice math facts, up to 18, with your child at home. A great website for this is aaamath.com.

Chicks, Chicks, Chicks!!
As you may have already heard, we are the proud “hens” of 10 chicks!! All our eggs hatched. Be proud of your child for being quiet and considerate during a very crucial time for the chicks!!
