Character Counts!! We will be celebrating our pillar of the month on Fridays! This month we are celebrating “Caring”, so be sure your second grader wears red on Fridays!
Good Behavior Jar! The children are working towards a "Movie and Snack" Day!!
Parent/Teacher conferences will take place the week of November 26. Please be sure to mark your calendars!
Math: We will be starting a new Chapter this week. We will be working with money. We will be reviewing names and values of coins as well as counting coins. Please be sure to send in the coins in order for the children to be able to apply what we are learning. Please be sure your child practices his/her math facts. We take our “mad minute” every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Spelling: This week’s spelling will include Unit 2 review words. The children should be able to recognize the words from past selections. Please be sure that your child writes his/her name on the papers and staples them to the blue sheet, if possible. Thank you!
Reading/Language Arts: We will be reading two selections this week, Owls and Owl Moon. We will also be comparing the two selections as well as reviewing fact and opinion. We will also how owls are alike and different. We will also be discussing adjectives.
Social Studies: This week we will be talking about different climates people live in. We will also be comparing/contrasting a producer and a consumer. The children will also understand what a natural resource is.
