Ask your child about Junior Achievement! Mr. Rankin works for McDonald’s and will be coming in the few weeks to teach us about how a community works together. And if your child asks, no, he will not be bringing French fries for everyone! Although, that would be nice!!

Math: We will continue to work with two digit numbers. The children will identify place values and will regroup when needed. They will also regroup using pennies and dimes. Please be sure your child practices his/her math facts. We take our “mad minute” every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Spelling: This week’s spelling go along with our reading selection, Exploring Parks with Ranger Dockett. Please be sure that your child writes his/her name on the papers and staples them to the blue sheet, if possible. Thank you!
Reading/Language Arts: This week’s reading selection is a nonfiction story called Exploring Parks with Ranger Dockett. The children will use the photographs in the story to help them understand the story. We will be comparing nonfiction and fiction. We will also continue to work on writing complete sentences.
Science: We were not able to get to measuring motion with our toy car and ruler, but we did make compasses using a magnet, some cork and a cup of water. Ask your child what we did. We will be measuring motion and finish our chapter. The test is scheduled for Wednesday.
