Finally!

READ ALL ABOUT IT!

Benchmarking is finally over and I am so excited to finally be working with your children.

PUSH IN

What is Push in???

"Push In" has the support teacher enter the classroom to provide instruction and support to children. The teacher may work with the child on math during the math period, or perhaps reading during the literacy block. The push in teacher also often provides instructional support to the general education teacher, perhaps helping with differentiation of instruction.

I will be pushing into the following classrooms for support with differentiating instruction:

Mrs. Olsen's Kindergarten class for reading in the morning and math in the afternoon (Monday-Thursday)

Mrs. Micetich's First Grade class in the morning for reading (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday)

Mrs. Onorato's Second Grade class for reading on Monday, Wednesday and Mrs. Schultz's Second Grade Class for reading on Tuesday, Thursday.

I am looking forward to collaborating with all three grade levels to help provide support to your children giving each one an opportunity to learn and to succeed!

TIER 3

In my First Grade and Second Grade tier 3 reading groups, I will be using an intervention called Leveled Literacy Intervention (Fountas & Pinnell).  It is an intervention that includes reading, writing, phonics, word study, comprehension, fluency, expanding vocabulary through a variety of genres.

I will be seeing my tier 3 group every day for 55 minutes a day.

Please look for a reading bag that your child will be bringing home everyday. It will include a book or two that you can enjoy with your child as well as a "fold sheet" that he/she will also share with you .  Please be sure to return the books to school so that your child can take home new books.

Thanks for your support.

I am looking forward to a great year with your children!
